UW Bothell

I was wondering if anyone was accepted to UW Bothell and were planning on going to this school.

Since being rejected at UW Seattle, I've been looking at other options and I was accepted to bothell in December. It's fairly easy to get in. I am appealing my rejection at Seattle, but I want to know if anyone has visited Bothell and what the atmosphere is up there? I've been doing research for that school but haven't gotten much luck.

Thanks!

You could call it a mini UW i guess. The campus is really nice and beautiful, especially if you’re an outdoors kind of person. Modern architecture, and their reading room looks really cool and cozy. I think it has everything you need for your education (if they have your major). You still have access to everything that the University of Washington has to offer (libraries, student tickets for athletics etc.) its just 10x smaller, highlighting personal attention and closer relationships with your peers and professors. Also several main campus professors also teach at Bothell, so I would have no doubts about its academics. Bothell’s greatest advantage to me (as an out of stater) vs UW Seattle is the availability of merit scholarships. I have 3/5 of my tuition covered, in Seattle I pay full price. I suggest you visit their campus. I did and fell in love with the school.

So you go to Bothell?
I’m planning on visiting soon because of the admitted students ceremony and tour. I haven’t accepted cause I’m waiting on my appeal for Seattle but that’s my second option.
The only problem I have is basically if there’s a lot of activities and such? I’m not an outdoorsy type of person… More of a city girl. So what’s around Bothell?

Isnt UW bothell relatively close to Seattle?

If Seattle doesn’t work out, Bothell is worth considering. As for activities, they have a variety of clubs you can participate in, and if you decide to live on their campus housing, that is a way to communicate with your peers too. They have freshman trips around the Seattle area, movie nights or multicultural gatherings etc. Although it probably isn’t close to what UW Seattle has to offer (greek life etc), the school strives to provide for its students, and it continues to grow. As for Bothell itself, it is in the suburbs with its own hidden treasures. But then again, if you ever find yourself with nothing to do, Seattle isn’t too far away.

And I’m a city girl as well, but I really appreciate Bothell’s unique atmosphere.

It’s like 15-20 minutes away.

The shortest drive is through the 520 bridge (takes about 25 minutes if there’s no traffic) but you have to pay the toll. You can also go through Lake City (circumventing the bridge), but that around 30 minutes at the very best. There’s also a bus line that takes you to UW Seattle from the Bothell campus but I forget which one.

How’s the student life though? I want that college experience so I’m choosing between CC or this. I want to go to college that is active and has a great student life.
