UW Chances?

I really want to go to this school because it has an awesome undergrad for those who want to go into medicine. However, I feel very worried that they will not consider me.

GPA: 3.22
-SAT: 1200 (I am taking it again, my target score is 1400.)
-I have 3+ leadership positions (speech and debate, xc team, local church youth ministry, and president of STEM club)
-countless volunteer hours
-I have a learning disability so I am writing how it has affected me and I attend a very challenging private school

Please give me feedback:)

Your GPA is below average. However, I don’t know your course load and what kind of classes you took. Any AP or honors?

Your SAT score is good but the average for UW as I know of is 1250-1300. If you manage to get a 1400 on your SAT it will increase your chances a lot.

Your extra curricular activities are good.

Your essay topic seems to be fine as well.

If you don’t take any AP classes or honors classes or only a few of them I would say your chances are 30%-45%. If you DO take AP classes or honors classes then I would say your chances are 45%-55%. If you manage to get your SAT score up to a 1400 I would say your chances would be 65%-75%.

I have taken 3 AP classes and I do attend a high school that is academically challenging. Do you think that they will take it into account?

@useranonymous Hi, 3 AP classes is fine, it is a little low, but who am I to judge, I haven’t taken one AP class and only 3 honors classes. Are you in state or out of state? If you’re in state I think you have a good chance, since you only take 3 AP classes I think you have about a 50/50 chance. With that being said make sure your essay is really good and you should be good to go. If you look at my thread I would say you and I have the same chances because I take no AP classes and only 3 honors classes but my GPA isn’t too bad.

I’m oos which kinda worries me…and I wrote in my essay my gpa was low. Hopefully they will understand

@useranonymous Don’t worry, please don’t lose hope. I’m worried terribly about my chances and it’s my first choice university as well. When I went and visited the campus some girl told me “if you put your heart to it, you’ll get in.” I haven’t lost hope and I pray everyday I get in, I’ve asked my teachers, family, and friends to pray for me.
