[li]Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging? Other colleges you’re applying to/received decisions from?:[ /list][/li]Advice: I’ve seen some students in WA who got accepted with pretty low stats while some qualified oos’s were rejected/waitlisted. Honestly that’s such BS in my opinion.

Commiserations: I just googled the meaning of this word and it means showing sympathy and condolence…? Well, my heart goes out to those who were waitlisted/rejected especially if this school meant a lot to you. It sucks to get rejected in general, or put into that waitlist limbo, but I hope for the best and I’m sure wherever you end up you’ll make the best of your college endeavors. :)

Feel like bragging: seems kinda pretentious/elitist to “brag” so nty

I wonder what you guys will use these stats for but ehh im so tired I barely understand what I wrote here. peace.

The small acceptance letter with “The Big Envelope” written on it was so trollllll LOL. [/ul]

Accepted

I was originally Waitlisted though. I got accepted through appeals!

Oh, if anyone needs help with appeals feel free to message me — I can help. I have some tips from other students I got and if UW is your dream school you really shouldn’t give up hope. They say only 5% appeals get accepted but if I can, you can too!! :D

[li]First-gen student? Family history?: First-genertion, low-income family. Nothing too extraordinary.
[/li]

[*]Advice? Commiserations? Feel like bragging? Other colleges you’re applying to/received decisions from?:[/ul] Tbh, I was shocked about my waitlist decision when I got it. But I had this bad feeling the whole time so it was no shocker (at least not entirely). If anyone sending an appeal reads this, make sure your letter is A++++++, that’s no joke/exaggeration. Send in some LOR’s as support. I sent three, the max they allow — and don’t use your HS counselor unless you actually have a relationship with them. I thought being RS and in honors college would boost my chances and thy might ignore my low-ish HS gpa and only notice my upward cc gpa but I guess not. If anyone needs help with appeals, MESSAGE ME! I’ve got some tips from other successful appeals students that I know helped me get in. Don’t give up hope if UW is your dream school!! Oh, and other acceptances: Gonzaga, SeattleU, University of Puget Sound, U of Portland, Occidental College and Reed College @-) (I think Reed was a mistake…haha). Rejected George Washington U, U of Denver, UCLA, and Conncoll.

How the hell did you get rejected

@charlesfries @dishkyaoon is correct, it does matter. Every major is not equally competitive. For example, getting a 3.5 and not having many extra curricular activities could be just fine for a History major, that’s not going to get you into Computer Science. So it actually does make a huge difference as far as stats go.
