UW Class of 2023 Waitlist

I haven’t heard anyone getting in after the first wave on the 13th.

Just found out today I got off waitlist! OOS 1230 SAT and 3.76 GPA! Not direct major but still in! Now I really have to think about my options…

Hello! What did the email say and what time did you receive it at? Do you know about anyone else getting off it today?

If you guys are reading this without an account, please sign up and keep us updated! We wanna know like you do

Hey! I received it around 10 am East Coast time, it said there was an update to my decision and go review my status and it said congratulations from there.

Thank you!! What major did you apply for? I know you mentioned you didn’t get direct to major - I applied for the college of arts and sciences so am curious to see what you applied for

Time zones are so weird so I apologize in my delay of responding. I applied psychology but got into pre-sciences for the college of arts and sciences

No worries! Thank you!!

Do you know anyone else who got in recently?

No not that I know of, weird I haven’t actually seen anything about another round of acceptances but they randomly took me off the waitlist now

I was taken off the waitlist on tuesday (6/4)! My stats are 29 superscored act, 4.28 weighted gpa, and a oos student. I am super excited but my main decision factor depends on financial aid, does anyone know when they award waitlist acceptances FA? I emailed the FA office yesterday and haven’t gotten a response yet.

I was also taken off the waitlist on Tuesday, for the information of other applicants & UW admissions staff. I am OOS as well, planning on going to my local state university, unless I get enough financial aid (admittedly unlikely at this point). For those people with somewhat low stats, I had a 1420 SAT (one attempt) & 3.651 UW GPA (barely ranked in the top quartile of my class for weighted GPA) when I applied. I got Cs in classes every year, except for freshman year, as well as mostly As & Bs (on a semester system).
I would also say that my ECs were very unimpressive, but I feel that my genuine essay & a strong senior year might have bolstered my application among the waves of hopefuls. Bravely exploring this vast world on your free time & ensuring that you are reflecting to ensure that you are doing what you can for your vision of yourself may carry you a long way, especially in the long-term. I even got accepted pre-sciences, requesting a math major. I do not think that they are providing any extra financial aid to applicants at this point, though I admittedly have not looked into this topic greatly. It will be best to check the portal occasionally until the deadline.

They already provided me with a loan offer, but now my portal updated saying that I qualified for notable need-based financial aid.

I got waitlisted in May after I appealed, but I have not received an email regarding a summer selective status or a denial yet. I haven’t heard back anything since my appeal.

I’m still waiting and I’m super anxious.

Same here, still waiting.

I just wrote an appeal so we’ll see how this goes…

Paul Seegert: Thank you, again, for your interest in the University of Washington. The 2019 freshman class at the UW is now fully enrolled. I regret to inform you that we are closing the waitlist and will not be able to offer you admission for autumn quarter.
I appreciate the time and effort you put into the application, and I wish you the best in your college career and all future endeavors.
Waitlistees: Mr. Stark I’m not feeling so good.

I also got the same e-mail. Does anyone know the best option now? Is it possible to transfer to UW after only a year of CC or do you need an AA?

I’m gonna try applying for winter quarter. Applications begin August 1st and end September 1st if I’m not mistaken. Maybe we should make a new thread when that happens. Best of luck to everyone out there, whatever ends up happening.
