Hey so I'm looking for a candid opinion here regarding the quality of Universiy of Washington's electrical or mechanical engineering programs.
I'm trying to decide whether to go to UW or USC to study engineering. I really like UW, but I know that USC has an excellent engineering program and I really haven't heard much about the quality of UW's engineering. I'd really appreciate honest opinions on how classes are and how hard it is finding employment afterward.
Thanks in advance for any responses!

UW engineering is super. While the electrical and mechanical departments are not as highly ranked as the BME or CSE departments, they are still quality. I am a high senior so I have not taken any courses at UW but I know quite a number of people who have graduated with an EE degree. Everyone I’ve talked to says that the program is amazing and very hard. If you don’t get accepted direct from high school, you need at least a 3.5 to have a serious chance at being accepted into the major (if you aren’t familiar, engineering is a competitive major at UW).

Since UW is located in Seattle, there are lots of companies hiring. There are plenty of internships available during the summers and if you network a bit, you will probably find a good paying job after you graduate.
