Can anyone here give their pros and cons for the two business programs? We live in WA, so my son will get instate tuition. Academic excellence will outweigh the money. I know, both schools have decent rankings, but do they really matter for undergrad programs? He is interested in Marketing but I have not heard about this program at either school, whether it's good or not. He will also have quite a few AP credits. If he doesn't choose to do double major, is there a high risk that they'll push him to graduate early from UW?
Your insight is very much appreciated.

UW has a leg up on USC because it has an actual business school; whereas, USC lacks one. I don’t know if that has any added value when picking.

Generally, if he has AP credit that will be to his benefit. Those credits may give him wiggle room to try different business classes or drop a class if it is too difficult.

Here’s some rankings straight from Foster’s website:

“BusinessWeek ranked the Foster School #2 for marketing and #5 in accounting among all business schools nationwide in the 2010 Best Business Schools MBA Specialty Ranking. Foster also received accolades in communications skills (#6), analytical skills (#8) and most improved (#11).”

Also, you can go directly to the page via this link:

What do you mean by that? Marshall is the School of Business at USC… sorry, I am sure there is some misunderstanding here… would you elaborate, please?</uw>

Sorry, I forgot to look at USC! They do have a business school :)

Best of luck with your choice.

What undergraduate specialization are you interested in? UW’s accounting and international business programs are supposedly highly ranked.
