Hi,
I haven’t applied to the Foster School of Business yet but I was wondering if there might be a chance for me getting in. In my first year of college, I’ve been dealing with a lot of hardships, averaging around a 2.6 GPA in my first year. But now I decided that I wanted to do better, and this second year I’ve done a lot better, getting a 3.7 GPA for my first quarter (taking MATH 112, ACCTG 215, and JPN)
Right now I think I might get like around a ~3.1 GPA and a ~3.7 Pre-app GPA
And for the WSA, maybe around a ~4 or so (haven’t taken it yet)
But I’m just worried because my overall GPA is really low. If I keep getting a 3.7+ for the next few quarters, getting it up to a 3.1 GPA or so, it doesn’t seem to be as high from what I heard for people who got admitted in (with like 3.7+ GPA cumulative), and especially when it’s 40% for the pre-app (while 25% is for pre-app GPA and 35% is for WSA)
Maybe I might do better in the WSA, and maybe I can boost my cumulative up even more (to like a 3.2 or so if I get like 3.9+), but right now I’m just estimating.
Other than that, can other parts of the application help boost my chances (like the personal information). There’s also the personal statement as well, is it possible to get in with these “below the average numbers”? Ever since I overcame my hardship in my first year now and started my second year, I believe I can do better, but I’m just worried that I might not have a chance now. If there might be a low chance, should I look into other business schools (and if someone should suggest me some)?
Thank you.
