Interesting article on statistics from last year's enrollment process (H.S. Class of 2008)

the file is damaged. Is there any way to copy and paste the article or is it too long. I would love to read it. Thanks.

Never mind...I found the article online. Looks to me that they are going to have to admit more than half of the 3500 applicant they have postponed already if they want to reach the 5700 target admission #. In an article in the Milwaukee paper (posted earlier) it says that 21000 have applied and they have admitted 7800 and postponed 3500. Last year they received about 25500 applications and had a yield rate of 43% so it looks to me that they will have to admit a total of about 13200 to get a yield of 5700. If they already admitted 7800 they have to admit 5400 more kids. If they get 4000 more applications and admit 50% of those that is 2000 kids ...so now you are up to admitting 9800 kids...so you might take a lot of kids off the postponed list?!?!? I would love to know how many kids they postponed last year...seems like a lot of kids are getting postponed this year.

When I click on it, the link works . . .

The title is "Report on the Class of 2008 University of Wisconsin", so if you have to google it, that should help.

I don't know how many were postponed last year, but in a link to an article I posted this week, it says that about 50% of postponed applicants are admitted.

I am not sure of the date on which the Milwaukee article referring to 21,000 applicants was published, but keep in mind that the application deadline is not until Feb. 1. Thus, the number of total applicants is not yet known and is likely to be higher than 21,000.
