Hello, I am currently a senior in high school and would like to know my chances for admission into UW Madison. I have maintained a 3.9 GPA and have a 26 on my ACT. I am in National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. In Spanish National Honor Society, i worked as a tutor. I have been in Key Club for 2 years in high school and also joined the track team in my sophomore year.I have accumulated around 50 hours of volunteer service and am continuing in my work. I have taken AP Psychology, AP Stats, AP Literature, and AP composition. The honors classes i have taken are Honors Geometry, Honors Advanced Algebra, Honors English 9 and Honors English 10.

This is most of my credentials off the top of my head. Could anyone tell me if this sounds good for UW Madison, please? Thank you.

Your ACT is on the low end for UW Madison. If you haven’t already, you should retake it. I’m not sure about the rigor of your courses either. The most important factors for UW Madison are grades, your rank, and course rigor. If you’re in-state, that could improve your chances a little.

if my act has gone up to a 29 will the chances be greatly increased? also, i am taking 2 science classes in my senior year which brings me up to 5 for high school on top of the honors classes that i have taken. i also forgot to include that i have taken honors history before Ap psychology.

Retake ACT or give the SAT a shot. You are a strong candidate, but that ACT could use 2 or 3 more points. Write great essays. Good Luck - Wisc.-Mad. is a great school that you will love.
