UW Madison-Dorms

Hi,
I will most likely be attending University of Wisconsin-Madison next year, and I am wondering which dorm(s) to choose and check out.

I plan on majoring in Nutritional Science to be a Dietician, so I'm really interested in health and fitness. I want to continue a healthy lifestyle in college. In a residence hall, I want there to be some quiet, but I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of boring. I plan on going out on the weekends, but I'd like to be able to study on weeknights. Air conditioning would be nice too. I'm from Wisconsin, also. So really, I want the best of both worlds, and I've just heard that the Lakeshore halls are full with abnormal people and nothing going on and the Southeast halls are full of parties and constant noise.

Any help would be so appreciated!

You might like Chadbourne. It’s located in Southeast so it has the reputation of being a little more social than the Lakeshore dorms, but it doesn’t have the crazy party reputation of Sellery and Witte. I think you should also look into the new dorms in Lakeshore because those are supposed to be realllly nice seeing as they’re so new. A lot of new students are going to be attracted to those so more social people who normally might be attracted to Southeast could be living there because of the quality of the dorms.

I have seen aspects of Chadbourne I like, and as for all the ones worth considering, is their location good compared to the rest of campus? Walking extra in January sounds pretty miserable, whether it’s Wednesday morning or Friday/Saturday night.
