<p>I've been accepted into the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and UW Madison and I want to major in Electrical Engineering. Both universities seem to have strong engineering programs. Can anyone suggest where should I go and why?</p>
<p>Congrats! UW ECE Alum here. Both departments are great and will offer you similar opportunities in courses, undergrad research opportunities, engineering EC, internship/coop/permanent placements. Both programs are rigorous (aka tough) so you must be prepared for the workload and do well. If you like to speak a professor/advisor in UW ECE, PM me. </p>
<p>Visit both campuses. Use campus atmosphere, IS-vs-OOS (cost), food, distance from home, whatever non-trivial reasons to make up your mind. Good luck!</p>
