Incoming freshmen will take placement tests in English and Math (foreign language placement exam is optional) - either during SOAR, or in spring (beginning March 19th).

Does any know if/when you can view your placement tests results online if you took them in the spring? Do you have to wait until SOAR to see how you did, or can you find out in the Student Center before SOAR?

I took the placement tests this past Saturday and if I remember correctly, they said you have to wait until SOAR to find out how you did.

What if you take the tests at SOAR?

My daughter took the Spring placement tests on March 19th, and her results were loaded into the Student Center section of her my.wisc.edu account on April 11. To see your results, once in the Student Center section, click on ‘Academics’ then click on ‘Placement Test Scores’.

When my son took the placement tests two years ago in spring, it only took 10 days to load the results.

At SOAR, you find out the next day, since that’s when you register for your classes.

Here’s a link to the Math placement algorithm which is a grid for the 3 components of the math placement test:

I couldn’t find information on interpreting the English placement test score, but I seem to recall reading that a score of 600 or above exempts you from the Comm A requirement.

(Test scores are out of a possible 850).
