UW-Madison vs. Indiana University vs. UIUC vs. Purdue vs. U Washington

Which ones are the best?

These are the one's that I'm highly considering, and I have no idea what I want to major in.

Best to Worst (though all are good):
UIUC
UW-Madison
Washington
Purdue
Indiana

U washington is ranked the highest of the bunch (i think..maybe madison is higher) I think at U washington you don't have to declare a major until junior year and they have a ton of funding. UW madison is also a similar case where you will have a ton of opportunities. can't speak on behalf of UIUC and purdue though..

Wisconsin and UIUC
Washington
Indiana
Purdue

When it comes to ranking, It:
Wisconsin
UIUC
Purdue
Indiana

Wisconsin has the best combination of strong academics in many areas, good quality national student body, cool college town, and awesome campus.

Their overall rankings in US News puts them in this order:

UW-Madison
UIUC
Washington
Purdue
Indiana

All decent schools, but I'd choose the University of Wisconsin-Madison. UIUC and Purdue are better for engineering, but Wisconsin is the best balanced of this bunch, with strong faculties in almost every field. Madison is also one of the all-time great college towns. And best of all, WishWash, as a Minnesota resident (White Bear Lake, I see) you can attend the University of Wisconsin at in-state tuition under the Minnesota-Wisconsin tuition reciprocity agreement. (Actually as a Minnesotan you'd pay the same to attend Wisconsin as you would pay in-state to attend the University of Minnesota, which is slightly higher than the in-state tuition paid to the University of Wisconsin by Wisconsin residents---but still a real steal). To me this is a no-brainer.

"decent schools" is a big understatement.
