I was wondering if UW-Madison or UIUC better for undergraduate chemical engineering? I know UW has ranked top 5 in US News Rankings. However, my teacher has advised me to go to UIUC, because their reputation is much better than UW. I need advice. If a company sees a graduate from UW and another from UIUC, which one would they choose?

I know that UIUC is phenomenal for Chem E. Now granted I graduated in 1989, but Engineering has always been very strong at UIUC- and yes I am a UIUC alum. However, I would try to get more credible advice than from me. If you know anyone in the field, ask for their advice. Best of luck.

eenie meenie miney mo…catch a tiger by his toe…

That’s how they would select between those two schools.

…or maybe the school that won the Big-10 title may also be a tie-breaker. Since my M.S. Engineering is from U-Wisconsin, I will tell you to go there.

Oh, I just have the same question

I would go to UIUC just because of their carreer fair. Both schools are great though.

Is it easier to have internships in Wisconsin or Urbana? I know Wisconsin has a bunch of internships online to apply to, but Urbana has a career fair. Do companies hire more ChemE from Urbana or Wisconsin?
