UW makes SAT / ACT optional for 2021 applicants

My goal is direct admission into UW CS. I am a High School junior and I worked hard to get reasonably good SAT score. And now comes the news that UW has made standardized tests optional. Great. So now all that work I put into SAT goes to waste?

Some high schools are also giving students pass/fail instead of letter grades. 2021 admissions will be challenging. It will be stressful for students because there is less visibility into how colleges are going to evaluate your application, leading to increased unpredictability.

A: With the reduction of testing dates globally, the UW will not require SAT or ACT scores for any autumn 2021 freshman applicant.

Q: Will not submitting an SAT or ACT disadvantage me as an applicant?
A: Not submitting an SAT or ACT will not harm any applicant in the review process.
