UW or UCI

I was wondering what are some opinions of the pros and cons of UW(University of Washington) and UCI(University of California, Irvine). I want to be in some kind of computer science major, buy parents keep telling me that UW is bad according the ranking and some people said that the undergraduate is bad, but I thought it looks like a nice school. On the other hand, I got into UCI with computer science, and my parents also keep telling me that I can just transfer to UCLA after two years of UCI, assuming I get good grades. If you can list the pros and cons of UW and UCI, I will totally appreciate it. Thank you.

the second sentence is suppose to be “…but my parents”. Sorry, some type I made.

I believe you should attend UCI. The university has:

  • Robust industry ties
  • Excellent research opportunities (both campus-wide and “locally”)
  • The School of Information & Computer Science

Net price at each school?

Were you directly admitted to the CS major at each school? (If not, it is easier to get into the CS major at UCI than at Washington.)

Happy April Fools’ Day, @Guest19434.

You should go to UCI, where it will be easier.

Thank you for your responses! I really appreciate your opinions.

UW is a very nice school, beautiful campus, and strong academics, especially CS. If you are the type of person who want to challenge yourself, definitely choose UW. It has a much higher ranking in CS than UCI, and UW is well known for its strength and difficulty in CS and Med school. Otherwise, choose UCI.

If I were you, 100% UW. My personal opinion tho
