I didn't get admitted directly into CS for UW, but I really love the environment of the university and Seattle itself.

I got into Baskin School of Engineering for CS at UCSC and they are offering me $10,000 in grants. And I'm just okay with the UCSC environment.
If I do go to UCSC, I might change my major to computer game design.

For me, the major and program is the most important thing. and I really don't know which university I want to go to. I was leaning towards UW, but I don't know anymore.

Any advice and/or input?

If you’re OOS for California, UW without a doubt, UCSC is still a boatload of $$$ even with those grants. If you’re IS for California, probably UCSC.

Is money a huge issue for you? If you buckle down in college and are proactive with internships and stuff (thus giving you a bigger professional network and ultimately landing you more chances at interviewing at awesome companies), you won’t have any trouble paying back loans within a few years.

If you go to UW, do you have a back up major(s)? There are many routes you can go while still getting a software engineering position when you graduate.
