UW or W gpa

So I really want to go to the university of washington in seattle but their gpa range is like a 3.6-3.9 uw. I have a 3.4 uw and 3.7 weighted. Will they still look or ask for my weighted because thats what I want them to see.

They will look at both (whatever is on the transcript).

It’s very wishful thinking to imagine that colleges will mistake your weighted GPA for their unweighted standards. Colleges are very adept at translating between both. Moreover, it does no good to favor weighted GPAs because they make you feel good. That’s like wanting to talk about your salary in Yen instead of USD because it sounds better.

This is not the first time I’ve seen posts like this, though.

It doesn’t matter. They look at school reports and your classes and how hard of classes you took. They also look at your school report and if your school is hard then there should be some way to tell. But you indicate you are OOS, so it is very likely that gpa has to be very strong as they have limited admissions slots but they do need those full payers. I don’t know the OOS admit rate. It doesn’t matter really, you are sold on it and are applying right? So you can handicap it all you like but you have to apply to see. Just get your other schools lined up now.

They will definitely look at both (your transcript should have both), but other applicants will most likely have higher weighted GPA as well.

the thing is that UW doesn’t ask for your transcript until you are admitted

Do you need to self report grades then?
There is no standard in GPA. So 3,7 at your school may be as good as 4,0 in other schools. Check if your school has Naviance data for that school.

It’s been a while since I applied so I’m not positive about this, but I think it specifically asks you to report your unweighted GPA. Every other applicant will do the same, so you’re not put at any disadvantage.

They will definitely look at your course rigor, which is pretty much what your weighted GPA stands for. Just specify AP or IB in your course name and you should be fine.

@husky1212 im guessing you know about UW because of your username so if you wouldn’t mind check out my chance page for getting into UW?

@sbkorn28 Yes, I go there. I wasn’t sure which page you were talking about, but I did comment in one of your other posts! Good luck!
