UW-Seattle or UW-Madison for CS

Hey! I got admitted to UW Seattle and UW-MAdison for this fall under regular admission i.e not direct. Which of these schools has a better CS program? Which school is preferable to attend?
Any help is appreciated.

UW Seattle has a better CS program. Nothing against Wisconsin, which is also a great school, but Washington is generally considered a top CS program, undergraduate and graduate. Any concern you might have about entering the major through the competitive application process should be alleviated by your very impressive SAT (including 800M), ACT (including 35 E and 35M), and SAT IIs in MATH 2 790, PHY 740 and CHEM 710. In other words, you have “the right stuff,” and if you focus on your studies, you should be fine.

Congratulations, and good luck!

However, admission to Washington CS is much more competitive (average college GPA of admits around 3.7, but admission to the major is holistic with a personal statement and other criteria besides courses and grades) than admission to Wisconsin CS (complete a CS course with a C or higher grade).

Which is why it helps vinvsv97 to have the kind of academic ability that’s reflected by an 800M SAT, a 35E and 35M ACT, and SAT IIs of 790 in MATH 2, 740 in PHY and 710 in CHEM. If he/she can’t get admitted, no one can!

^^that is a good point. Has a good chance yes. But it isn’t only gpa that gets you in. And I read only a little over 1/3rd get in. Although there are several chances to try and good alternate majors that will let you do the same thing jobwise. I think the program is probably better although Wisconsin has a strong program. I think the access to internships is much better and the overall culture of putting yourself out there into them.
