UW Seattle Transfer Advising & Registration 2012

Hi there,

I'd like to know the dates and times for transfer advising & registration at UW Seattle for Fall 2012. If any of you have experienced transfer advising & registration for last Fall 2011, it would be awesome to hear about that. I plan to go out of town this summer. I really need to know at least the estimation of the date and time. Thanks!

I wasn’t a transfer student but we have quite a few of them here who can answer more specific questions about the experience for you  As far as I know, it’ll be mostly the same as freshman orientation/advising sans the advising portion, where you’ll meet one on one with an adviser.

From First Year Programs ([Advising & Orientation (A&O) | First Year Programs](http://fyp.washington.edu/?page_id=10))

Transfer Advising & Orientation Programs
Transfer Advising & Orientation Sessions last approximately six hours, and are scheduled on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout July, August and September. During your transfer A&O you will:

-Meet other new transfer students and currently enrolled UW students.
-Receive an overview of academic services and expectations at the UW.
-Meet individually with an academic adviser.
-Learn more about services provided for students including: commuting to campus, on-campus housing, getting involved, undergraduate research and campus safety.
-Receive your Husky ID card.

and

“The registration application for transfer students will open Mid-June.”

TIP: Since you’re planning on going out of town, keep checking the above link for registration! Registration for transfers should be live soon :)

You do get to meet with an adviser as a transfer student.

(For the record, mine was horrible. There are many other advisers out there who are great though)

I second OP. The same problem… It’s already mid-June and the link still hasn’t appeared there yet.

Call FYP (email will take longer).

[Contact Information | First Year Programs](http://fyp.washington.edu/?page_id=8)

The link still hasn’t appeared yet. When one of you guys are able to register, please let the rest of us know on here.

Well, their office told me that i should get a notification by email when the registration opens…

Yet just sent out an email

“Dear New UW Transfer Students,
*
Congratulations on your admission to the University of Washington! The Office of First Year Programs is excited to serve you as you transition to the UW. We wish to provide you with the best possible service as you enter into and matriculate through the University. In that vein, we are updating and improving the online registration process for your orientation.
*
This new registration application has many capabilities that will ease your transition to the UW and should be available to students by noon on Monday, July 2, 2012. We realize that many of you have been attempting to register for your Advising and Orientation program and wanted to provide you with up to date information on when the new registration system will be available. *
*
We apologize for the inconvenience, and would like to reassure you that this delay will in no way interfere with your successful transition to the UW. *
*
We look forward to serving you at an upcoming orientation! If you have any questions or concerns relating to your transition to the UW, please don’t hesitate to contact us (fyp@uw.edu or 206.543.4905).”

So, no link yet right?

Nope, it’s there! Anyone going to the July 18th one? I am!

Did it just go live? Coz I checked before I posted. Heh. But thanks for the heads up! :)

Ok so I’m on the page where you’re supposed to choose a date and there’s nothing to choose from… :(

Yay. Registered for the 19th. Good thing is that at least I will get a lunch for my 272 bucks.

Nbr000, try a different browser.

Did you guys just register? I’ve tried 4 browsers now. Still no luck. :(

Should the URL really be https://depts.washington.edu/fyp/regapp/autumn/incomingfrosh.php</a> for the part where you choose the date?

This is very strange. I signed up from IE on my windows phone without problems. I don’t know the link, bit try to clean your cookies, browser’s cache and restart your computer. If you have a different device with the internet, try using it.

https://depts.washington.edu/fyp/regapp/autumn/</a></p>

Tried it on my phone, and still the same result. :(

Hey JSG2011, did you see this link: https://depts.washington.edu/fyp/regapp/autumn/incomingfrosh.php?</a></p>

If the problem is even on your phone, then most likely the problem is on their side. Maybe they are fixing something there and temp. disabled the function.

I sent FYP an email. I can’t apply for housing either, so it might be connected to my account. :(

Wow. That must suck. I would also give them a call tomorrow to expedite the solution of the problem.

I have been checking all day and it has been the same thing every time. I can log in, but there are no dates to choose.
