MORE REPLIES PLZZZZ!!! I’ve been so impatient all end of April and it’s May now!! Fall transfers should be included in this thread as well.
The guy who often sits next to me (International student):
_Major : Computer Science
_Quarter applied: Fall 2016
_Transferring from: South Seattle College
_Stats: 3.97 Overall GPA
__Personal Statement : dunno it is strong or not because I have not read it.
The girl who is also in my class:
_Major : Computer Science
_Quarter applied: Fall 2016
_Transferring from: South Seattle College
_Stats: 3.5ish Overall GPA
_Personal Statement : Super strong, a lot of hardships since she got a 40k scholarship.
my stats? I want to cry…
I don’t like sharing my stats, sorry guys!! I was looking through an old thread and apparently they started hearing back around May 18 last year or the year before. I guess we’ll have to wait another 10 days or so before we start impatiently checking everything…
No response yet here. Transferring (hopefully) from Green River to Foster for accounting.
Basic stats:
Good luck everyone! Hard work pays off more often than not.
@Dbowen01 Woot woot go you on that gpa raise! So did you came back to school and started off with the 3.0 GPA and 3.97 the 56 credits you took when you came back which averaged to a 3.63? Also, how many credits did you have before? I’m just curious on how much it really takes to bump up GPAs! You basically 4.0’d every class!
Thanks! It’s actually worse than that lol. I initially had like a 2.3 or something before (like I said, garbage). It’s somewhere around 3.0 now with all of the courses I’ve taken, including a few 0.0’s. I’m not sure off the top of my head, but it’s a lot of credits since I almost had an AA before with nothing even resembling a business prereq. So the 3.63 is based off the business degree audit, and that you can only transfer 90 credits.
No biggy, you still managed to boost up your gpa which really isn’t that easy! Keep up the hard work and good luck on UW
@Dbowen01 nice stats, I believe you will get it!
Just wondering, do we have to update our official transcript? or we only do that after we are admitted?
@thaipq, thanks. I’m sure we’re all about as impatient as possible waiting for letters, and that helps haha. I think they’ll probably have you submit the most recent transcript after the grades are posted for spring. I took a quick look and didn’t see anything saying we needed to update transcripts before acceptance letters are sent.
Good luck, but unfortunately veteran status does not help with UW Seattle.they give no preference. I am a veteran aswell
@Dbowen01 oh and I’ve also applied once before with a 4.0 GPA, but I only had 40 credits so they said it was too little. Even as a veteran and 4.0 of 40 credits I got denied
I also talked to the admissions office and the percentages of acceptance stay static throughout the year. Youre probably better off applying for fall, I was stupid to apply for summer because less applicants overall, but I don’t mind staying at UWB. Great school, just no Greek life
I’m just thinking about it and 2 year CC students get priority to get in. What about a student who went out of state for their freshmen year, came back to a CC in Seattle then apply for UW after that for their 3rd year? Are their chances about the same as a straight up CC student?
@curiousgall: I talked to an academic advisor about this and he said that you’d only get the priority if the majority of your classes came from a seattle CC. It seems like that’s the case for you!
“2 year CC students get priority to get in”. it is true?
@thaipq yes, 2 year CC students get priority.
Awesome thanks! Has anyone checked in with admissions about when letters will be coming out? I know we have about a week left (if it’s on time like last year) but I’m so impatient!!
Feel good to see that so many guys are same as me. I almost check myuw everyday but nothing changes in this two weeks…
Lol I check literally almost every hour! So impatient but I mean why not, gotta start registering asap if we get in or wherever we plan going if not UW!
