@kev9532 thank you. and good stats!
@thaipq don’t really know if it is good enough for UW… It is apparently not good enough for other schools I have applied…
@ginger5409 I am a fall 2016 transfer and haven’t heard anything. I applied for general admission.
@nadayou I thought u have to apply for a major for transfer
@kev9532 nobody knows, but I am sure you are a competitive applicant.
@kev9532 no, I don’t think so. I got accepted for fall 2014 for a general transfer, I paid the $300 new student enrollment fee and even had an orientation date set out. But I got really sick and rejected their admission later in the summer. Unless the rules have changed I think it is okay.
@nadayou thanks, hopes we can be schoolmates.
@kev9532 I applied for sociology, not a competitive major like you.
So I have a friend who knows a woman who’s daughter applied to UW as a transfer student (for fall 2016) here in washington state and apparently, according to her, her daughter got a rejection letter from UW saying that there is no more room for transfer applicants.
WTF is going on, i’m so scared right now. So many different stories, I wish they would just tell me already. :((
@nadayou there is no way they use that ridiculous reason to reject somebody.
@thaipq gosh I hope so.
@nadayou It’s a pretty big university. They don’t use reasons like that to not accept them- they’d be put on the waitlist if anything. Unfortunately, you can’t believe everything you hear.
@Grey007 yeah that’s what I kept telling her i’m like are you sure she said that? she might have gotten waitlisted. She said nope I asked they said she got rejected because they don’t have any more room for transfer applicants. I’m like that’s so strange. I’m sure there must have been some misunderstanding between their conversation.
Thanks guys. I guess the waiting game continues.
Yeah, they have room for what, 1300 transfers? I guess it makes sense, but it would likely be a selectivity issue at that point.
Apparently this time last year fall transfers were having their unofficial transcripts load, but from my research every year is different- regardless, this waiting game is a killer.
Agree. The wait is killing me…
Hey everyone, just wanted to share this message. I don’t know if it helps anyone in anyway.
Hi Nada,
Thank you for contacting the UW Office of Admissions!
Transfer applicants for Autumn Quarter of 2016 can expect to hear back from June through the end of July, which you can see here. Please note that we cannot send out admissions decisions earlier than the scheduled notification period.
All notifications are sent out in waves at random due to the high volume of applicants. US applicants with a foreign mailing address and International applicants will be receiving a letter in the mail along with an email notifying them of their admissions decision.
Thank you for your patience,
Katie

“Please note that we cannot send out admissions decisions earlier than the scheduled notification period”.
That quote makes me feel a little bit better. lol. Or at least I hope.
@thaipq is it possible that they make decision for transfer admission to CSE department before they process internal transfer? so we might get it before the ddl for internal transfer?
@kev9532 I don’t think so. They said they would treat everyone equally so…
Has anyone gotten any updates online or through mail?
Not today, however, we are now in the notification period!
