@metanoia95 really weird! You would be the ideal candidate. Your making me scared now I have a lower gpa ?.
@metanoia95 please let us know what the advisor says! Your rejection really threw me off on a loop.
Don’t worry. My friend got in with a 2.7 and minimal extracurriculars a few years ago. She said she even wrote the essay like the night before. I’ve also seen some people get in with gpas similar to that range here. I really think a lot of it is up to chance. For example, the person who reads your essay; if they connected with it as opposed to someone else who may not have…
Hopefully! Dude thank you for contributing to the forum and I wish you best in the future. Also if anyone gets in please let us know and provide stats!!!
Does admissions review you application randomly or is by date you submitted it? Or last name?
Are decisions really coming out already? Recent rejections are making me uneasy ?
Stats:
HS GPA: 3.19
CC GPA: 3.69
SAT: 1230
Major: Nursing
Hopefully my upward trend will get me in…but my classes are getting really tough x.x
Decisions are about to come out guys (1-2 weeks hopefully) . So nervous
Hey y’all!
I applied to transfer this winter, fingers crossed! My stats:
HS GPA: 2.9 (I didn’t think college would be a reality for me due to a lot of financial barriers and I didn’t take school seriously until my last two years of hs because of that)
CC GPA: 3.48
SAT: 1330
I applied as a history major but plan on doing Comparative History of Ideas instead, I want to go into law. I feel like I did a good job of explaining my situation and the career path I intend to take in my essay. I feel like my really big upward trend will help me out but I’m not sure. Here’s to hoping.
I’d like to add that I have all my gen ed done, I did a few AP classes and college in the high school classes through my high school career, and I dual enrolled my senior year.
I also didn’t take HS seriously until my last two years. Hopefully we’ll both get in!
I had a whole career path and planned on applying for my major next year, but I emailed admissions and they said my chances could be slim because I applied when I wasn’t ‘major ready’. I just really wanna go to UW ?
I’m not seeing any new information on MyUW, did ya’ll just go to your application status? Sorry to hear some of you were rejected, but you can always apply again or there’s lots of other schools!
I’m kinda crazy and I check UW unofficial transcript link, accept offer of admission link <== (ways to check early!) and then application status.
Ugh i feel, I’ve only taken one history class so I hope that doesn’t deter them from me. It’s largely an uncompetitive major which is why I applied for it when I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do.
@Fishyduck I’m not sure how accurate the “accept offer of admission” thing is. And if it is accurate idk how early it would really be.
Judging from UW transfer threads in the past, it sounds like we get acceptance by letter and rejection by email. And I think a lot of people didn’t hear until thanksgiving or afterward for the fall this year. Hopefully there will be less people applying for winter so we’ll hear sooner.
Next Thursday is my birthday. I can swear to god if I get rejected on my birthday I will be so pissed.
Does anyone have an offer of admission when you go to check? (If you’re not sure how to do so, google “how to see if you got into UW” and it’s a Reddit post
I don’t think anyone does lololol
I wish lmao, but no. I have to hear ASAP, my family is moving to California in January and I need to know what I’m doing! Also does anyone know my chances of getting a dorm? I know i’ll have junior status but I’m 18, which I think gives me priority? But I’m not comfortable moving to an apartment alone, I think, and neither are my parents.
Well, I was accepted into my major today (Public Health-Global Health) but I haven’t heard from general admissions yet. Ofc the offer for my major is contingent upon my acceptance into UW so I still have more waiting to do. T.T
Does anyone know when they are going to start sending out letters? Has anyone called them? I would call them but I am currently out of the country
