Everyone was saying in past years that the date of the registration for new student orientation is a good indicator of when most people will hear back by. It varies year by year, but it’s usually November 20-something. This year it is November 7th, which is interesting. So I don’t know if either not a lot of people applied so they may get through it faster than usual or it’s just super early this year.
Hi everyone!!
I’ve been checking this forum for a while now, it’s a relief to know I’m not the only one crazy nervous about hearing back. I thought I’d weigh in, here are my stats:
93 credits at Washington CC, will have a complete associate of arts at the end of fall quarter
3.82 college GPA
3.1 high school GPA
4.0 for all my pre-reqs
will be applying to psych major, I have all the pre-reqs done except one that wasn’t offered at my CC.
Didn’t submit test scores, because I don’t need to and I don’t think it’d help me (my SAT was 1130)
I did running start with a huge upward trend, I struggled my first two years of high school.
I don’t feel great about my personal essay, but other than that I think I have a good application. I also applied at uw tacoma as a back-up, and heard back from them at the end of october.
I think your stats are great! You have an amazing upward trend and are major ready!
I sometimes wish my upward trend looked a little bit better but honestlyyyy, I am sometimes the average lazy student.
I wouldn’t worry about your essay though, your academic stats could be the game breaker for your application
@uwwinter19 your set! Don’t worry go relax!
Let’s see if we hear any news today!
hey guys! i’ve been stalking this thread for a while but haven’t posted.
i checked the uw portal today and my admission status hasn’t changed (still says “we will inform you…”) but my unofficial transcript loaded with a student number and everything, and when i click on “accept the admission offer” on myuw it goes to a page that says “you have been offered admission to the University of Washington Seattle for Winter quarter 2019.” i can click a button to accept the offer and pay the $310 new student enrollment fee. does this mean i’m in??
Hey guys, I’ve been hanging her for the past day. I was pretty involved with the fall 2018 thred and I’ve noticed here that people have been trying to use the “unofficial transcript” trick here. Last thred people were told multiple times by someone at the UW admissions office that that trick doesn’t work. I know it may seem promising, but only time will tell in this case.
Got in!
Stats: CC gpa: 3.64
Credits: 60
Congratulations! How did you hear back and what major were you applying for?
My unofficial transcript loaded! And my enrollment says I have been offered admission.
@pepper0983 I’ve also been reading the threads and it seems like if your offer of admission updates its a pretty good sign but yes if you just see the unofficial transcript you should probably wait a bit until something else changes.
OMG I GOT THE OFFER OF ADMISSION AND TRANSCRIPT!!! I am instate CC and my gpa was something like 3.40 I think. I unfortunately couldn’t apply to my major just yet but I said business/statistics.
@pepper0983 If the admissions offer page is propped up that means I am for sure in right? Can I just pay the $310 ?
@uwprettypls I think it should mean that you got in I don’t see any reason they would put that up there just to reject you
@chemgirl2018 I haven’t received anything official from UW is it better just to wait for that and pay or can I just pay now because I am high key excited.
@uwprettypls So I’ve read a lot of other threads from nervousness haha and it seems that after a day or two the main page of the application status fully updated and then depending on where you live it took for most people a couple of days to a week to get a letter. I also got an offer of admission and I think I might wait until my main page updates just because… but it think you could pay it now if you wanted to.
Hey, @lowgpabigdreams Electrical engineering I got in a pre engineering
Hey everyone!
I’ve been lurking on this thread for a while now and want to wish everyone who got in congratulations. I haven’t received mine yet and anxiety is pulsing through my veins.
Stats:
HS GPA: 3.2 with 6 AP Classes
CC GPA: 3.8 (90 Credits)
ACT: 25 (Didn’t turn this in as I thought it was expired.)
Personal Statement is very, very well written. I put my heart and soul into it, as I have faced countless tragedies and seen some things most people will not in their entire lifetime.
I am putting all my hope into getting into this school, as it is the only one I applied to.
Neither my unofficial transcript or admission offer has loaded.
I called UW admissions and they said they hope to have all decisions out before Thanksgiving. They also told me there is no rhyme or reason to when they send out the decisions.
For those accepted, when did you turn in your applications? What is the first letter of your last name?
I really hope I got in, guys send me good energy.
Thank you
@UWWishin Hi! I think your stats are wonderful and its good to hear that you made sure you essay was written well. I turned in my application September 6th and also my last name starts with R! But yes from past years there really is no pattern to when they send out applications, only that it comes in waves. Someone previous said that they might try to get the application decisions out early this year because the orientation registration date starts on Wednesday, which I believe, so I think you’ll have a decision soon.
@chemgirl2018 I thought the deadline for the Winter 2019 transfer was September 1st?
