UW v. NU

Where should I go. I plan on being a performance guitar/econ double major. UW is 20k less per year, I wont go into debt my parents are paying but 20k is a lot. I've visited both schools and I think I would be equally happy attending either. Seriously I can't decide. Will going to UW over NU seriously hurt my opportunities of going into banking or law after college?

No, it won't.

Go with University of Washington. It is an excellent school, and at a price difference of $80,000, definitely the best option.

Is NU Northwestern? Unless things have changed there in the past two years, you can't do a music performance major and a Weinberg double major in under five years.

University of wisconsin v. northwestern. My bad. And I called a guy at NU who told me you can do a double major in four years pretty easily and that many students do it.

U Wisconsin is a fantastic university. I'd save my money, or my parents money and go there.

U Wisconsin - both schools have great reputations and it makes no sense to spend 80K+ more to go to Northwestern.

Wisconsin! I thought you meant Washington. Wisconsin is even better. I'd go there in a heartbeat.

Double major in music/something in wcas by the way. Thanks for the replies everyone.

It's usually better to go with the school offering less debt.

I would incur no debt from either school, my parents are paying. Does anyone think I should go to Northwestern? Just trying to get other opinions

You're incurring no debt, but do your parents have to pay out of their pocket? What are their thoughts?

My parents want me to go where I would get the best education, I would have the best opportunities upon graduation, and I would be happiest. So they would be okay with paying for NU, but they wouldnt mind saving 80k either.

Sounds like money isn't much of an object. That's insanely lucky.. so go to NU lol

Unless, you really LOOOVE NU - I'd say save the $$ and go to UW.

Wisconsin is highly ranked in MANY fields of study. It is the choice here given the cost difference.
