i had a decent gpa, but a pretty good transfer essay! I was actually waitlisted after applying for the first time when i was a senior, then later rejected. So this was my second time applying. i have around 100 credits I believe. i received my acceptance letter nov 7th and my big envelope with enrollment info today!

@huskyhope, my letter actually came the 7th, not the 5th. In retrospect it was a significant amount of time from a loaded transcript to a letter, but once I got the letter the enrollment packet came shortly after. Also, I think those of us who had our transcripts load prior to the notification period faced a longer wait for our letters. I am willing to bet you’ll get yours much quicker. Congrats!

Just curious if anyone has received a rejection letter yet. I am trying not to give up hope, but at the same time I would like to know if I was not accepted so I can apply for Fall. If at first you don’t succeed!

I am also getting discouraged, I am pretty sure I don’t have a chance at getting in anyway but I had a small shred of hope. I got accepted into my major program but, honestly has anyone ever heard of someone getting in with a 2.7 GPA? I have a complete Associates Arts degree which was my small shred of hope. What do you guys think? No chance?

@Jsmith, Oh I see! Well, thank you I hope so too and congrats!
@daniikinns, I heard of someone apply and get into to uw with a 1.9 gpa as a freshman though. She had a really great essay apparently.

I wish there was some closure, my transcripts loaded but for some reason I just don’t want to get my hopes up without the letter. Was anyone succesful with calling admissions to see where they stood on their status?

@huskyhope thanks for replying! I dont know what to think. My major is competitive, they showed stats as to how many and who they let in last year and there was only 1 person let in with my GPA but I made it in this year, so my essay had to be pretty good right? And if that essay was good and I wrote it in the same way I wrote my application essay, it should be decent too right? Everyone has always told me Im pretty good with words but I didnt really see it that way until recently.

@huskyhope, admissions is pretty tight lipped. I e-mailed and called a couple times prior to my letter, and was told by a very nice admissions officer that they are not allowed to reveal decisions prior to one being delivered by postal mail; however, this late in the game it can’t hurt to try.

@daniikinns I’m sure if you got accepted to your major, especially a competitive one, your pretty much in. It had to be your essay and if you wrote one similar like your other one, I’m sure your solid!
@Jsmith210, I figured so Aww well, I guess I’m just going to wait it out stocking the mailman.

@HuskyHope thanks for the encouragement! I’m so nervous, I have a lot of things at a standstill in my life that depend on if I get in or not, including a job offer which I’m really lucky they are holding it for me. I haven’t gotten my transcript to load though…

So people have received letters/packets around the 5th through to the 8th. It’s now the 14th and I don’t think anyone has got a letter (from UW Admissions, not major admissions) in the past week or so. Hopefully, this means that next week, the next ‘batch’ will go out.

@Candela I hope you’re right. I am getting impatient! Has your transcript loaded on the site?

Nope. No transcript and no letter! So frustrating knowing it must be getting here soon but not knowing how soon. Every time I check the mailbox is a little adventure.

@candela Same here! It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one! In looking at this forum for past years I saw that some people didn’t receive their letters until after Thanksgiving. I hope it doesn’t take that long!

I am also waiting anxiously for a response from admissions. So far my transcript hasn’t loaded… it makes me nervous! I met with an adviser for my major @uw in sept and she told me I have a pretty good chance to being admitted. I’m applying to an open major so I hope that helps my chances. When I applied for fall 2011 as a freshman, I was rejected. (appealed the decision and was still rejected). I was crushed considering UW was really the best option and in high school I earned ~60 credits through Running Start.
I now have a AA from a WA State community college, improved my gpa, and I’d like to think I had a great personal statement.
I submitted my app close to the deadline, and I’m worried that because my transcripts didn’t get to admissions by the Sept 1st deadline that will hurt my chances. (stupid highschool, aren’t you there to help me go to college?!)
Congrats to those who have already been accepted! Mind sharing if you have your WA AA or not? I know thats a priority for admissions and I’m just curious!

I actually don’t have a full AA, but I do have 90 transferable credits and a strong GPA. I never went to high school due to family issues, so I had specific classes I had to take to fulfill the CADR requirements and the prerequisites for my major. Try to stay positive as I am sure they have not notified all those they intend to admit yet. Good luck!

Has anyone gotten a letter at all since that first batch arrived around the 7th? Any guesses on when we can expect another batch?

Still no letter for me no transcript either. I was wondering though, when I got the email from my major program that said I was accepted into that was I supposed to reply? Or set up a meeting with them? I’m not sure, in the letter she just said that the decision is depending on me getting into UW and that she looks forward to waiting it out with me until I hear from the school. That the bottom of the email though there was a little thing under her name and information that said click here to make an appointment but she didn’t say specifically that I need to make one and there was a bunch of other links that she said she attached for me to browse through and get familiar with the program. What do you guys think wait until I get a letter to do anything? Email her back? Or make an appointment?

I still haven’t received any new from them :\ Admissions sent me an email asking me to send in my transcript from my community college and I did and it arrived there the 5th of November. I keep checking in and my admission specialist says she is working on still finding it with the mail room. This is making me so discouraged…I applied for transfer winter 2014 for oceanography. I hope we hear something soon :(

I haven’t heard anything, and I can’t load the unofficial transcript myself. I’m finishing my AA-DTA this quarter, 3.2 GPA with Dean’s List last few quarters. I also have 4 years active duty military service, for whatever that’s worth to UW. I applied as an anthropology major which is supposed to be in the least competitive of the 3 categories. Anyway, I’m not panicking quite yet. Just listing my info for comparison. I’ll update when I hear anything.

Well, nothing in the mail again today. I wish I was a more patient person! There is just so much to get together before Winter quarter if I do get in, and more applications to do if I don’t. I am just glad the waiting will be over soon either way. Hang in there!
