Hi all, I called admissions today because I felt the need to haha. The admissions counsellor that I spoke to said that they admit students in waves based on major. Therefore if you didn’t apply directly to a major like me because the biochem. major opening is in the spring…then you will hear back later than those who applied to a major that people have already been accepted to. This makes sense because they need to admit students into their major quickly so that they can get their classes together. The people who are hearing back first are probably the people who applied for competitive or relatively competitive majors in which they will need to register as soon as possible. The admissions counselor also said that the bulk of notifications have not even gone out yet. So there is not much to worry about now. Hope this can allay some of your worries.

@UWchancemeh I am definitely going to apply again. I want to get into UW so badly!

@200pants @SPECtatiN I just received the big envelope! Now just waiting on foster…

@Puw2014 Way to go! My class ends in 10 minutes, then I’m going to race to my mailbox!

@200pants I hope @SPECtatin is right about foster!

@Puw2014 congrats!

Thanks guys, I’m sure yours will be there shortly!

@Puw2014 @SPECtatiN My letter came! My enrollment packet came as well and in on one of the documents, it shows the same major and college information as the unofficial transcript. But it looks awfully official, I think all signs are pointing to acceptance to Foster as well Hopefully that letter comes tomorrow or Friday.

@UWchancemeh I am an out of state applicant. However, I am a resident of Washington and got in my freshman year but chose to go to a small school in California. I am considered an out of state four year transfer so it’s going to be really hard. I actually got into USC and might go there if UW doesn’t work out. I got into Western but I really want that big college environment. What are your options?

I got both as well.

@200pants @SPECtatin congrats!!! =D>

@justin3co

I see.
USC is a great school too, plus it’s in southern California so thats a plus!
I’m pretty adamant about going to UW Seattle, but if I don’t get accepted for winter 2015 or autumn 2015 I’ll most likely attend Seattle U.
I’m feeling pretty good about autumn 2015 if the winter term doesn’t work out.
You should definitely try for Summer or Autumn 2015 if you receive a denial, I know a couple OOS 4 Year students that got into UW after about 2-3 tries.

@socalsea

Same!
I’m in love with the academic community and environment at UW.

Does anyone know if the information that you can find by going to the myuw.washington.edu site is updated? I am curious to see if there is a faster way of finding out my admission status, because I have to make a quick move from GA if I am accepted.

@Puw2014 I’ve got some more good news. I just got off the phone with a Foster admissions person and she explicitly said “If it shows your major and that your in the business school on your transcript, it means you were accepted. Congratulations!” She also informed me that letters are going to be sent out Dec 1st. The reason I called was because in our enrollment letters it says we have to notify them to reserve our spot by the 20th. So I wanted to know if Foster letters would be sent out before then. Looks like @SPECtatiN was right!

@200pants Hi! I’m new here and I was wondering what your GPA was/where you transferred from? I am waiting on my letter…

Welcome @cgweber! Here are my stats which I posted a few weeks ago in this thread:

Transferring from Bellevue College with ~90cr but no Associates degree
Major: Finance
GPA: 3.3~3.4 (Not sure how everything will transfer)
Pre-Req GPA: 4.0
Pretty Solid Personal Statement
I’ve worked in the industry for close to 2 years
Significant recent grade improvement.

Thanks! Mine are close to yours! Congratulations

@200pants That is great news! Does this mean that we can’t register for classes before dec?

@Puw2014 I’m not sure. I scheduled an appointment with a Foster advisor for Nov 24th. I would suggest you do the same. But you should act asap, they get booked way ahead of time. I scheduled my appointment back in mid October. I think we will be able to register for general classes, but we may need to wait until December to register for classes at Foster.
