UW Winter 2015 transfer thread

Got my housing confirmation. I’m staying on west campus in a triple. Not what I had hoped for in terms of room size, I’d prefer a double. But at least I have a bed!

@recycle15‌

Nice!
West campus > North campus :wink:
I’m struggling to find off campus housing for a reasonable price…
I heard that once your application is accepted, you have to commit to one of the given options of you’re fined a cancellation fee, is that true?

@UWchancemeh I think the cancellation fees increase the later you wait. The fees go up to the cost of living in a dorm for the quarter.

I got my housing assignment in Lander. West campus is definitely the best

@justin3co nice!

I sent online application ( transfer application) 1 month ago. Couple days ago, I visited myuw site to check my application status and I got this one mgs:
After giving your application to the UW Tacoma an initial review, we have determined that one or more documents, supporting materials, or additional information are required before further reviewing your application. All required materials must be postmarked by the application closing date for autumn quarter 2015.

I already sent to uw my current college transcript and shoud I send to uw my official high school transcript? And what happen next?
IF I have to send my high school transcript, can I send it after Mar 15,2015?
This is my first time make transfer to uw. Really need help.
Thanks all.

No, it must be postmarked by March 15 (which is clearly stated in the message–this is the closing date for Autumn 2015). I would confirm with an adviser as to what you’re missing.

If that is not an option, then…
-Do you have fewer than 45 transferable credits? Then you need to submit SAT/ACT scores
-Does UW Tacoma require high school transcripts for all transfers (Seattle does)?

IDK about UW Tacoma, but UW Seattle requires high school transcripts to determine completion of CADRs. Since March 15 is Sunday, and it needs to be postmarked by then, you should contact your high school registrar and rush an order ASAP.

@nguyenvuong‌ Like mentioned by husky1212, it is best to turn in all your paperwork by the postmarked dates. However, an advisor should e-mail you if anything is missing (they e-mailed me).
I cannot clearly recall, but I think they give a little leeway for late paperwork (Don’t quote me).

@husky1212 can I use my unofficial high school transcript? I had high school out side the U.S. and I think my official high school will be late to turn in because it’s on the way from Vietnam to U.S.

I have not received any email from admission office since I got that reminders. Its making me worry. I called to my old high school in Vietnam and they are preparing high school transcript for me . It will take a long time cause translate, notary, send by post office, etc. can I send my unofficial high school transcript ? Or btw can I turn in my official high school transcript after March 15?

@nguyenvuong‌ I would stop asking the Internet and go to uw tacomas admission office

@nguyenvuong I don’t know about Tacoma, but Seattle made me submit official transcripts. You don’t have to worry about the delivery time, it just needs to be postmarked (mailed) by March 15.

Or contact the Admissions. You want to receive their confirmation especially when it comes to application materials and deadlines.
