It's so hard to figure out this schedule. The most confusing part is this UW20. Is that just one class? The site stated that i should take it in my first year...but how do i do that? Can you give me an example of how UW20 would look like on a schedule? Also, is there a dateline that i have to finish this by?

UW is a freshman writing class.. it is 4 hours.. you take it either 1st semester freshman year or 2nd semester freshman year. You don't want to take it after that because you will be in with a bunch of freshman.. just take it your first year.
It's just a normal class in your schedule that is a requirement for everyone.

Any of you current GW student's have an opinion on Flota's uw class? I've read about him on ratemyprof, but I'm interested more in the class itself...

so i could take UW20 as a class in first semester with Flota...and I'm done with those credits? (does the 20 stay for "20 credits"? ---> this is probably a stupid question, but i want a perfect schedule). Also, are there advanced classes like AP and Honors in college? Or do they weight the same on GPA?

yes.. you only take UW20 once...
There is the honors program at GW... but those courses weigh the same on your GPA as regular classes. The benefit of the honors program is you get a challenge, as well as your degree is marked "with honors" when you graduate.

also, many different sections of UW020 exist with varying themeatic interests. (i'll edit my post if i can find a link to the site that has all of the UW 020 course listings - just try and search for it on GW's website).

for example, i'm thinking about taking Section 21 (i think that's the number) of the class - it is about the city of Washington, DC (architecture, planning, etc.).

To find the course listing for UW 020, go to First Class, Step 3, Literacy, and then click on the link that says "UW 20 Courses." I just noticed it for the first time today and it is very informative.

thanks.. that was helpful!
