UWashington, Illinois Urbana Champaign, UT Austin, Wisconsin- Madison for engineering/liberal arts

Hi, I am a highschool junior looking to get a science/engineering education grounded in the liberal arts so that I can have some flexibility and general skills for the future job market. Which of the following schools is the best in that regard? I will be major in specifically bioengineering. Thank you for your responses.

Cost constraints? State of residency? Out of state public universities typically do not give good financial aid.

Bioengineering generally does not have as good job prospects as other kinds of engineering, since you mentioned that as a concern.

Hi, thank you for replying. I am right now just trying to find out the best school for the type of education that I want, and will use cost constraints as a final criteria. While jobs are a concern, pursuing my interests is the most important thing right now. I specifically want to know which of these schools have the best liberal arts/ general education combined with bioengineering.

that’s a backwards way of creating a good list.

Ask your parents how much they’ll pay each year.

What is your home state?

I live in CA. Ok, it feels awkward saying this, but my parents are relatively rich, so I am not as worried about cost constraints now.

My parents want to get me the best education possible and so they are willing to pay pretty much anything as long I don’t spend money irresponsibly and study hard (which I will).

Since you live in California, the grass is not necessarily any greener than at your less expensive in-state UCs. Do your parents know how much the out-of-state costs are for the schools you list, and have they told you that they are willing to pay that amount?
