UWaterloo Housing Options for admitted student

Hi all. I was recently admitted to UWaterloo Software Engineering Co-op. I live in New Delhi and basically have no idea what the purpose of University Colleges is and how I should choose between all the housing options. I, from my limited knowledge, wouldn't mind living in either residence or UC. I need to know the very basics which might be obvious to other students. Basically what I already know is that the university colleges offer more facilities and a closely knit community than the residences. That's pretty much it. Here are some criteria which I am taking into regard while making my housing decision:

I prefer not having to cook my own food.

I prefer to live with as few people in my room as possible.

I prefer people who are in SE so that we can study together, help each other out, etc.

I'd want to be near the engg buildings.

I'm still confused between the community bathroom thing and bathroom in my own suite/room.

I hope I have supplied enough information for you guys to be able to assist me! Thanks in advance!
