And yeah @AdventurerOM those kind of activities are present at most if not all schools. I don’t think it’s a good reason to not apply. I get a little jumpy at that as well. But UWC is an amazing opportunity. It would suck if you missed out due to something you’ll still experience at alternate schools.

In regards to the drugs/alcohol/sex thing… I mean, yeah, I’m sure it happens… But it’d happen at any other school too, and I’d rather have those sort of activities going on at a UWC than a normal high school

Hi! I am also applying this year! Any tips?
I was looking at the application form yesterday and noticed a question along the lines of “Do you enjoy physical activities or sports? List up to 5 areas of interest, indicating level and time of involvement.”
If I am not involved in a sport - unless you count jogging laps for fun and various dance/swimming related activities that I stopped 5 years ago - what are you guys putting on that?

Hey there! Seems like I’m a bit late to the party, but I’m planning to apply for a UWC this year too!
Applications opened 2 weeks ago, and I’m just doing a basic draft for every single question–there’s some that requires quite a bit of thought (e.g. describing a global problem that worries me the most, along with how I plan to solve it and what I can do now as a student), it’ll be certainly fun / interesting to write answers to those questions!
P.S. My preferences are LPC, Pearson, Changshu and RCN~

hey I talked to a UWC representative who came to my school.
I asked about applying in grade 9 and she said most people who apply in grade 9 don’t get in. She said that you do learn a lot from applying in grade nine and not getting in because when you apply the next year, you have a better idea of what you are doing. The only downside is if you get discouraged from not getting in. She also said that most people who get in applied in grade 9 ad grade 10.
