@Santoast13, I love how you addressed that message to yourself And I love doing Math, but I don’t learning Math. As in once I know what to do, I enjoy it, but I hate learning what to do. Math is also pretty good for me because once you know the formulas you can’t really get much wrong. Still hate it though. The maths in Physics is more fun :D

@RipCity14 oh my… I’ve had brighter moments. My mom always asks me how I’m so smart but have no common sense. oh well.
I know what you mean about math though, I just find that math is like an ugly second language, but once I learn it it’s easy and I don’t mind it as much

@Santoast, I LOVE MATH TOO!!! That is probably the only subject I am good at. As for everything else, I just get B’s or A-'s because I have no interest in them :/

@Santoast13 that’s nice my mom never calls me smart, lol. And if you find Maths hard I know MUWCI offers something called Math Studies which is supposed to be like the easier version of Maths so all the kids who aren’t Mathematically inclined (ME) take that.

I absolutely LOVE maths! Probably because it doesn’t need a language… i could learn exactly the same as people in other countries! It seems to me like one of the only subjects which is universal, and the majority of children, everywhere study it. However, when it comes to mathematical ability… oh dear. I’m not too great. I sat the exam early, but it probably hasn’t gone well.
I’m a drama person though, and singing! also languages. I’m not outstandingly amazing at any subject, i love pretty much all of them! hahaha sorry for the essay :)

@farmgirlmoo Haha your line about Maths being universal reminded me of Boyz n The Hood. I personally can’t get up in front of people and sing or act or dance. Good on you. And are most of you doing 10th grade?

@ripcity14 I’ll pretend i got that reference hahaha! aw thanks! :’) and i am! i think a lot of us are!

@farmgirlmoo yay I like everything too, just that I wish I could actually act, sing , dance
And my favourite subject is History probably, I like maths but I’m not too good at it… Ugh, looove history - it’s so interesting though

@Hedwig8 we’re like twins!!! I’m sure you can!!! i love history, but i didn’t take it! :(

Hi guys I know its really late to be posting this now, but the 2014 applications in my country are only released in November… It’s been my dream to attend a UWC - such diversity and a placed filled with people who want to change the world! I really do hope to get into UWC-USA as it is the only one that offers Dance as an IB subject. There aren’t any professional dance schools or many performing arts conservatories in my country and I really really hope to be given this opportunity to be part of a UWC community I’m really passionate for dance and performing arts and I hope to do something in this field in the future - I would really like to improve the arts education in my country in the future
I’m currently doing my A-levels in a sixth-form college. I just finished my IGCSE’s in June and I managed to score straight A*/As… Yay! I also did the IB Middle Years Programme at the same time (my school required us to do the IB MYP and the IGCSE’s were optional), in which I did a lot of community service work - our school brought us for community service trips and was involved in many societies and clubs like student council, MUN…I did my personal project on performing arts with the disabled . I got mainly 6s and 7s for my IB MYP :)…I’m not sure it’s good enough though… I haven’t done much volunteering since I started my A-levels :/

I reallly hope I can get into UWC-USA, as I read from their website that they have quite an emphasis on the arts :D

This thread is filled with so many talented and passionate people…I really hope to meet you guys and be future classmates I guess I’m also pretty obsessed with UWC… I can’t stop imagining what it would be like to wake up in a dorm with people from different countries every morning pretty excited :)

I do well at English (it’s my best subject) , although English Language bores me to death! I like maths, but I’m not amazing at it, I have to work really hard to understand it and it links in with my future career choices so it’s kind of a must for me. I’m a girl, and I’m more of a Chemistry inclined person, I find it so interesting and it comes really easy to me! For GCSE’s I am currently doing English Lit, English Lang, Maths, Triple Science, History, German and Art. @Santoast13 I have the exact same dilemma - I have practically zilch common sense… :(

@dancingdaisy HI! it’s lovely that you found us! :)

@aureleo sorry, I didn’t see your post! I don’t have much common sense either hahah! What exam board are you on? Because I think I’m getting more GCSEs than you even if I didn’t count my extra subjects! That doesn’t seem fair! Weird stuff, maaan.

@farmgirlmoo I’m on several exam boards, not just one: AQA for Sciences & Art, Edexcel for Maths, OCR for English, History, WJEC for German. Do you only have one exam board?

I finally sent off my application, wooo!

@aureleo I’m on basically just WJEC, but for Italian, I’m on Edexcel! It’s crazy having loads of different ones hahah! Weird! But i guess because I’m in Wales, we have to have WJEC for most subjects because of the Welsh… yay… Hahaha :)

@farmgirlmoo I also did a Religious Studies short course GCSE from WJEC, so I’m not that alien to it! I think it’s quite confusing using WJEC for out German course because the vocab lists come with English AND Welsh translations… Handy if I ever want to learn Welsh though, I guess. :)

Aw right! Hahaha, yeah, that’s us welshies!! I speak welsh, mwhahah! :)

I am quite good at essay writing. My teacher (who clearly hates me, and shows it to me) always sais in front of the class how good mine is. But I really really REALLY hate literature. I never get the second meaning (hidden thoughts) of poems and short stories and so on. I simply don’t like grammar because it is boring. Although Hungarian is said to be hard, our lessons are boring. Personally I am very much into sciences, maths, music and foreign languages. I totally love experimenting and counting. And I feel so grateful for talking with all of you guys, who also like subjects like these. My classmates don’t get it, almost everyone is into literature and history and arts. (We have 12 subjects from music to PE and a total of 31 lessons or so a week.)

@MediDuet, I too am excellent at english, but never get the hidden meanings and stuff. I absolutely despise Shakespeare as well. And WOW all you guys know so many different languages. I’m only fluent in English and Hindi, which is my native language so I don’t even know if it counts.

Also I’m doing English, English Lit., Maths, Physics, History (Favourite), Business, and Economics. I don’t really like Business and Econ though.

HOW CAN YOU HATE SHAKESPEARE D: HE’S AMAZING!!! waaaaaaaaaa
