Thank you. It was really hard at first though because I had never been on a farm before let alone doing farm work. Also since my grandfather couldn’t do anything I pretty much had to raise myself. The only difference between living on my own and that was that I worked 70 hours a week and my pay was in food and water and the smile on my grandfather’s face

@santoast13 Happy thanksgiving! and to you other americans!
I am following [Wales Tales | Stories from UWC Atlantic College](http://walestalesuwc.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/)

@austin96 That is really inspiring! faith in humanity slowly restored

Hi
I’m from USA and I learned about UWC through a letter and brochure they sent me. Just curious, do they send these to lots of people as advertisement? Or do they really see potential in me. Thanks!

@awkwardbirdie, Here’s my top five. My top two are pretty much locked, but I can’t decide on the bottom three.

1] Mahindra
2] RCN
3] Atlantic (The campus is AMAZING, looks like a castle)
4] Adriatic
5] Pearson

And guys, did any of your apps say ANYTHING about home schooled kids? I’m home schooled so I didn’t take any exams in grade 9, I only take my boards which would be in May/June.

I’ll have to call my National Committee and ask them about this but if any of yours said absolutely anything about it, could you please tell me what it was? Thanks!

First off: Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans!
@imready4this, Im also curious about the brochure. I found out about the UWCs through an alum, but I’ve seen a lot of blog posts about getting a brochure. I think I’ve also seen some about learning about it from MUN, so I guess they really get the word out, even though I’ve never met anyone who knows about it in person…
Also, where in the US are you from?
@Ripcity, I havent seen anything from the UWCs about homeschooling, but I’ve definitely read a blog by a kid who was homeschooled… Unfortunately I can remember the name or what college the kid got into, so I guess I’m not much help there… But I do know that in the US they do say that test score ARE mandatory and even if you dont take the PSATs or SATs in school, you still have to take them.

@tecz77 do you mean a kid who was homeschooled who got into UWC? And if yes do you remember which UWC it was?

@ripcity14, yeah that was a bit unclear. Yes, the kid was homeschooled, and he did get in, but I dont remember the name or school he got into… Sorry! I’ll try to find the blog again, but no guarantees… :(

@tecz77, no problem, thanks a bunch :)

I’m curious, how did you guys ind out at UWCs? I heard about it from a girl I met at shad valley (a summer program this July).

@awkwardbirdie918, my best friend goes there and he told me a lot about the place and I fell in love :P

@tecz77 I’m from California.

Do you know if we have to send in certain scores? I didn’t do so well on the PSAT so can I exclude it in applications? Because for the counselor form it said and/or so can I just exclude it? Thanks :)

I’m so excited for UWC! Sounds like a great school!

@ripcity14, which does he go to?

@tecz77, he and my other friend both go to MUWCI.

@ripcity14, that’s so cool! So if you went there you could all be at school together :)

@tecz77 well my best friend is graduating after this year, so no, but I could be with my other friend.

@ripcity14, thats sucks that you wouldnt get to be with your best friend. Out of curiosity, do a lot of people from your school apply? Its cool that you know people already at a UWC, just surprising that you know two people… :)

@tecz77, well like I said, I’m homeschooled now, but I know these guys from the school I used to go to. And no one else from that school applied. They were two of the smartest guys there, most of the other kids, are well… you know, like all the other kids in everyone’s school.

You know they actually filmed harry potter at AC?? Like, in the bathroom - damn the bathrooms are weird! I mean they’re so cool like the cubicles have massive wooden doors and stuff! I went on the opn day

I wonder what the competition is like in the UK, I mean.
