UWC applicants year 2014

oh, great  India sounds like a really interesting country

@flopsyUK, IT IS! I just realized, a lot of places where UWC has it’s colleges are foreign to us. So if someone wants to know more about India, feel free to ask me anything. You can add me on Facebook if you like, just send me a private message and I’ll add you.

@ripcity14, I’m not much of a Facebook person  is English your first language?

@flopsyUK, yes English is my first language, and yes I kinda messed up the previous before and was too lazy to change it :stuck_out_tongue: Basically what I meant was that a lot of people over here are from places like the UK, or the US and wouldn’t know much about Costa Rica, or Bosnia, or Swaziland or India, or pretty much most of the UWCs. So if anyone wants to know about India, I am more than willing to answer their questions, just Private Message me and I’ll send you the link to my Facebook Profile and you can add me. And @flopsyUK, if you don’t have Facebook, feel free to ask me here :)

Hey guys! Thought I’d join your conversation and offer you my advice. I’m from Germany and starting in a month I’m gonna attend UWCWK in Swasiland. I just finished an internship at the German national committee. So, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
@Grizzzly AAHHHH! UWC royalty in the house. You made the frickin blog list, that’s my bible!
What do you mean starting in a month though, the 2013-2014 year has already started.

@ripcity14 is the UWC in India your first choice? @grizzly, do you know anything about the new UWC in Germany?!

@flopsyUK, yes MUWCI is my first choice.

If anyone wants to know something about the UWC in Maastricht, you can ask me. I’m not from the Netherlands and i haven’t been in the school, but I go to Maastricht twice a year so I know the city a little bit
It’s too bad that I haven’t gone there since I’ve known there is a UWC there! But once I was there (before I knew uwc) and saw some students talking English and it’s really funny because I remember thinking: ā€œwhat are they doing here? They don’t look like they are on vacation.ā€ :)

@RipCity14 I would love to know more about India. Do you know more about the place where MUWCI is? Do you maybe live near?

@WorldViewer, I know about the place where MUWCI is and I KINDA live near. MUWCI is closest to the city of Pune, which is a couple hours drive from Mumbai where I am from. It’s located pretty far off though, more of an isolated area in the hills. I know the closest village is called Paud which is around 7km from MUWCI, and that the place is absolutely stunning.

Connor, I’m not even joking, you are my hero. :)

@RipCity14 I think MUWCI sounds really awesome, but my mom doesn’t really like it because she’s afraid it isn’t safe for women in India
One of my teachers has been there though and she always tells great stories about it

@RipCity14 Swaziland is different than the other colleges. We start half a year later since it’s on the Southern Hemisphere.
@flopsyUK yeah, I do. I’ve been there actually. Gonna write about it soon on my blog ;)

@worldviewer which UWCs would you like to go to?

@flopsyUK my first choice is UWC Costa Rica, then the USA. I don’t really know my third choice yet, maybe UWC Armenia or MUWCI. And you?

@grizzly could you put a link to your blog? Did you like the new UWC? I am really glad there are two new UWCs this year

@Grizzly, I’ve always wondered if it would be weird to start school in January… Must be a bit confusing to go home and everyones in school…

And if anyone is wondering about Armand Hammer, I can tell you that it really is lovely nearby. It pretty good skiing (but this is coming from someone who has only skiied in the US, maybe if you’re from Switzerland its not as nice  ) And of course there are a fair number of Reservations nearby, so that does come into play with CAS and term breaks…

@worldviewer I don’t really mind where I go, but I don’t really want to fly so Europe really

@flopsyUK sure, here it is: [url=<a href=ā€œhttp://www.connorbaer.org/blog]Blogā€>http://www.connorbaer.org/blog]Blog! Blog! | Connor B

@flopsyUK I don’t really mind either, but the UK and RCN are more expensive and AD too I think. Germany would be lovely, but my German is really bad and I’m afraid I would have to learn it then :stuck_out_tongue: Maastricht would be nice, but it’s like only 2 hours with the car from my home so it would feel diffrent I think. And I don’t really know much about Mostar or Dilijan.
And ofcourse I want to learn Spanish ;)
