I'm applying and have an interview in Chicago in a few weeks. Anyone else going to be there? I haven't heard anything about 1 on 1 interviews though. Another question for people who went through this interview: what attire is appropriate? I am really interested by the UWC and its goals so every little detail counts.

hey to both qtpie and tn, have you guys been on www.uwcnetwork.com or, if you have facebook, the uwc prospie facebook groups (prospective uwc students-usa chapter... there is one for canada too lol). they're both pretty helpful/interesting lol

Are you sure that UWC network site adress is right theaterworm? I got an all Danish website about the UWC, helpful to a Dane but not myself.

sorry its .org not .com. i do that all the time lol!

theatreworm. thanks so much. it really is helpful!

Anyone have news from their interviews?

well, i have applied for Norway, India, and USA, i wish i could add on UK and Canada. Though i am really nervous for the interview, which is on 6th April in UWC,mAhindra. If anybody can help me with some questions it'll be great. The questions would be the ones asked there. Like i just need this as a reference. The ones asked in the interview. The invitation letter stated that 2 different batches of interviews will be taken by 3 people each. Even the thought of that gives me the creeps. But basically i know if i go prepared for the questions it'll be a bit easier. So suggestions by the UWC alumni will be great. Please help me.

Hi rahul869. You probably won't find too many posts by UWC alumni here so look instead to theatreworm's advice to me in an earlier post on this topic and go to facebook or uwcnetwork.org . Good luck with your interviews. Mine are next Saturday.

hey not only the UWC alumni, but anyone. It'll be great if someone could help me

hey tn819 and theatreworm, please gimme ure hotmail adresses

hey
i'm currently in uwc and u should talk about:

-about the advantages of a broad based curriculum
-your passions on the academic front (scince/humanities/etc.
-how you would love to do a broad variety of extracurricular activities through CAS
-diversity - most UWCS are very diverse ethnically

that should probably make you a good candidate... good luck!

Which UWC are you at? I'm from UWCSEA

im at uwcsea too!

Hey guys!

My interview for UWC Pearson is in two weeks and I’m so nervous! Hopefully I can seek some advice here!

What type of interview questions do they ask you in front of the panel? How do you stand out from all the other wonderful candidates with exceptional EC’s, grades, and references?

Any advice will help!

Hey! What province are you from? I’m from British Columbia (actually, I live 30 mins away from campus) and know A LOT about pearson through some very strong ties to staff there. I know that at least here in BC, the interview is in front of a panel of around seven, and a mixed group of teachers, committee members and alumni. They’ll ask things about your application, your regional problem essay, things like ‘What can you get at an education at Pearson that you can’t at your current school?’ they’ll also ask you certain questions like what problems you see yourself facing and how you plan to overcome it. They will most defnitely what you can bring to the table; what unique attribution you can make to the community. Just let them get to know you as a friend … I’m sure there’s lots to talk about! As for standing out, I think its very important to be sincere and genuine. They want to feel comfortable investing 80,000 dollars in you. If they don’t really feel like you showed YOU, that comfort won’t be there. Be honest. Congrats on getting an interview!! The shortlist hasn’t been made in BC yet … so nerous!

Also, keep in mind that you’re not applying to PEARSON, but to UWC. They will also ask you what college you would want to go to and why.
