I just recently started looking into the ACT. I don't have a guidance counselor that I can ask (yet) and looking for CC to help me! I was reading on the ACT website and understand there are multiple tests/sections (e.g. math, science, and english).
When you sign up for the ACT (no writing) do you get tested on ALL of those topics on one test date? Or can you pick and choose which ones you wish to take? The score you receive, for example 32, is that the TOTAL score for all of those sections? How is that score derived/how many points for each section if the test includes all sections?
Also, I heard that the ACT is easier than the SAT. Is that true or just a myth?
I'm a upcoming junior this fall (very soon D: ), so when is a ideal time to take the ACT? I was thinking the April date. Would that be too late?
Any information, links, re-direction, etc. is much appreciated.

You take all the subjects on the same date.

Composite score is an average of your 4 subject scores.

ACT easier than SAT is a myth. It’s different, some people find one easier than the other. Although, more people got perfect scores on the ACT than SAT last year.

April would be fine (that’s exactly when I took mine, actually). But I recommend taking it a bit earlier so you’ll have ample time to study if you don’t do well.
