Vacuum cleaner?

Do the freshman dorms, Barton specifically, have vacuums the students can use, or should we buy one? Last minute shopping panic!

You just reminded me of what my son said after I put together a home made first aid kit. What no defibulator. I’d say maybe they could share the vacuum but without the manual it is probably pointless.

We are trying to be minimalists, but the pile is getting larger somehow. I hate him having to store a vacuum, but he really does need one for allergies. I forgot to ask at orientation, I’ll probably have to call res life. When we went shopping he picked out a huge box of bandaids, and I told him if he need more that two to cover an injury, he better go to the clinic!

I just asked my son and he said they had a vacuum on his floor of the dorm for anyone to borrow. He was in a freshman five dorm, but they are probably all the same.
Btw, your student will probably use much less than what you pack. I don’t think my son even ever used his comforter.

Good to know. We will hold off and if need be run out and get one on move in day. We didn’t bother with a comforter, just a blanket and quilt. Stuff that can go easily into the wash. Once I take everything out of the packages, the pile should shrink. Hopefully! Plus there will be less trash to deal with there.

I just got an email back from res life. They do not provide vacuums. I wonder if they ever vacuum the carpets, yuck. Beware sitting on the floor!

Thanks for checking. My daughter will also be in Barton, and I’ll have her check with roommates to see if one of them are bringing one.
