Did anyone get into this? It's not the science and management program, it's the dual degree/concurrent masters, research stipend program for prospective phd-ers. It seems really cool, but like a lot of work!

I was invited to the program as well but I’m not sure if I want to go through with it. I know that there’s no penalty for dropping out of it but I’m thinking of just taking it easy in college (especially freshmen year!) and focus on a lot of other interesting areas instead of just hardcore math and science.

YEAH…invited as well. How much work is it? Cool to end 4 years with a masters tho.

yeah it would be a nice segway into a phd or md/phd program. I just want to take fun things like german though too

got invited, i’m saying no to it though.

I was also invited and I will be doing it. Though I’m not sure how I will fit in a double major and all the requirements in four years (starting a new foreign language) while also fulfilling the BFS requirements…

@quillshrink: I’ve had several contacts with current Vagelos scholars. They say it is a lot of extra work, but it’s well worth it. You will be enormously prepared for any PhD program. Getting into med school might be a bit easier without having to take Phys Chem and so on, but if you are interested in really learning about science and being prepared for virtually any biology or chemistry or physics related field, then this is the program for you

I decided to do it too. It’s a rare opportunity, and it seems to make a med school application stand out.

plus there is a pretty nice stipend to go along with it after soph and jr years (not that I made my decision based solely on money). Im glad you decided to do it!

how did you guys get invited? through the mail? or email?

it came in the acceptance letter.
