Vagelos Program ED

I know that when u apply to the Vagelos program, you choose the single college you wish to be considered for (either CAS or Wharton) if you are not admitted to the Vagelos program. My question is, if I were to apply ED to the Vagelos program and I selected CAS as my single college alternative and I then got rejected from the Vagelos program, would Penn let me know of its decision (whether I got into CAS) at the time it sends out it's ED decisions?

Also, if Penn does give decisions ED for the CAS program (after being denied from Vagelos), would that offer of admission be binding or would I be released from the ED agreement after being denied from Vagelos?

if you want to be released from the ED agreement its possible as that question is present in the common application form.

and yeah ur result for only CAS too will be released on the same date.

what do you mean by “if you want to be released”?

like if I wanted to be released, do I have to go through a lengthy process to get out of ED or is it just assumed that the student is released?

So, from what I understand (assuming this is the same as Huntsman and M&T) you can…

A. Apply to Vagelos and specify to be considered ED for whichever single-degree school you choose if you are denied from the program
B. Apply to Vagelos and specify to be considered RD for whichever single-degree school you choose if you are denied from the program
C. Apply to Vagelos with no back up

From those options, you could theoretically be

A. Accepted to Vagelos ED (any of the 3)
B. Accepted to Vagelos RD if deferred (any of the 3)
C. Accepted to single-degree ED (number 1)
D. Accepted to single-degree RD (number 2 or if deferred from number 1)
E. Denied :frowning: (any of the three)

Hope that helps!

dude. there is a question saying that ‘do u also want to be considered ED under the single degree choice?’ if you do-say yes and wharton/CAS will be ED too. otherwise isay No. simple ehh?
