<p>Out of the blue, about a week ago, I got an email from Ponzy Lu inviting me to join the Vagelos Program. I'm extremely excited and can't wait for all the wonderful opportunities. But, I'm wondering how the summer research stipends work.</p>

<p>Is there free housing? What do we do about food? As of know the 2008 researchers are receiving $5000 for their 14 weeks. This is alot of money, but if I have to pay for housing and food it could make a big dent. I'm hoping that the money could be used for expenses during the academic year.</p>

<p>The point of the stipend is to help pay for housing and food so those costs don’t deter you from pursuing research over the summer.</p>
