Valedictorian competition

Haha yes I always lose motivation then do a bunch of work one weekend. I took Hope, spanish, and spanish2 and my hope teacher was just awful she would not stop texting me all the Time.

Lol. My teacher used to text me all the time, too! She was always asking questions.

My Latin and Computer Science teachers actually call me about once a week. None of my teachers in the past called that frequently.

There’s nothing wrong with working the system to get the highest GPA possible. In order to be an automatic admit to University of Texas - Austin, you need to be in the top 7% of the senior class of your high school. If everyone else is “gaming” the system and you’re not, you won’t make the top 7%. At my daughter’s school, students would take core summer classes and online classes for pass/fail credit, and those classes were excluded from the weighted GPA calculation. Honors classes and AP classes were not available over the summer. The students would then have more opportunities to increase their weighted GPA during the regular school year. There is definitely a strategy to graduating with a high GPA and class rank, especially at schools where there are endless combinations of honors and AP classes available.
