Valedictorian

people at our school compete for the lowest rank…

the person 1200/1200 prolly wouldnt even know they were 1200/1200 because they dont care

Don’t most schools give a general rank if it’s that bad? (eg: 1000+/1200) That way no one would have the “honor” of being last.

mine does :stuck_out_tongue:
i told one of my friends to get his rank paper and he was 602/610

I was 15 out of 650 last year at the end of 2nd semester.

You’llsee… you’ll see. Watch your back, nobody remains val forever. ;)

(just a joke)

personally i have other goals besides caring about how im ranked compared to others

Valedictorian doesn’t seem like a big deal to me, mostly because at my school the teachers grade really easily so even someone with a 1600 SAT can get above a 4.0. It’s mostly a competition to see who can take the most AP/H/college classes, rather than who can get the highest grades.

At my school, the valedictorians have done really well. The past three years, the valedictorians have gone to Stanford, Harvard, and Yale.

My county got rid of valedictorian/salutatorian this year.

2nd/360-something ^^V

hooray for no ranking!

no, its not my goal. because there are 27000-odd high schools in America alone and that means there are 27000-odd valedictorians. Selective schools can’t admit all of them, and not all of them have impressive EC’s. I remember reading somewhere that being valedictorian only increased your chances of admission at collges by 5%. I would assume that number is even lower for selective schools, because the pool is so much more impressive.

However, it would be a nice bonus to know that I’m on top.

Used to be my goal. Now, it’s not. I just want to learn.
