It is close to 10 pm Boston time, I have finished polishing off my last essay, and clicked submit. Only problem is, I'm getting validation errors in multiple sections! I've checked everything and the only culprit seems to be essay length. Some of my essays are over the word limit but I really couldn't shorten them anymore. From reading lots of forum posts here, I was under the impressions that even if your essay is over the limit, you are allowed to submit your application.

Before anyone says that I should not have waited until the deadline, I want to say that I've been working on my essays for months but I've also been busy with loads of other things. As I said, I was under the impressions that essay length wouldn't be a reason to have my application rejected.

I can't rewrite all of my essays right now, so what do you guys suggest I do? I'm normally a coolheaded guy but this application is one of the most important things of my life; I'm starting to feel a bit sick to my stomach. I've emailed the Admissions but received an automated response saying that the office is out on holiday and wouldn't be back until the 2nd. Help guys :(

Sorry, but that isn’t really true;there still is a word limit. You will have to keep cutting until there aren’t any validation errors, otherwise part of your essay will get cut off.

The 250 word essays have an actual max of 275 if I remember correctly. The EC section needs to be EXACTLY 40 words or less in each box. Good luck, you can do it. Stay Calm and Hack On… I mean cut words. Stay calm and cut words.

oh man! I managed to slash, bash, slice and dice my essays and submit them with 32 minutes left to the deadline. Phew, that was a good experience. Thanks everyone for your answers! :)
