So I plan on applying to UGA, SMU, and A&M, and I plan on studying business. I think that there is a reasonably good chance that I could get invited to the honors programs at each of these places, but if I end up getting invited only to one or two of them, how should I look at the honors programs when I’m choosing where to go to school? Should I put that into much consideration at all or not?
It all depends on the program. For example, some programs allow you to have first priority in registration for classes. That means you’l never be locked out because a class is full. Honors students may have the best chances at good internships. Each school is different. Check the details. Some of these perks can make you college experience much more enjoyable.

Note that between A&M and UGA, there has to be one university that’s out of state for you: have you asked your parents how much they’re willing to pay for college (exact amount) and does that match what the Net Price Calculator indicates for you?
UGA’s priority deadline for honors & scholarships is October 15.
The University Honors Program at SMU is further divided in to BBA Scholars, Meadows Scholars, Dedman Scholars, President’s Scholars, Hunt Scholars and maybe more. Each group has it’s own financial benefits, mentorship programs, and access to various activities. All the UHP scholars have access to Honors Classes which are smaller and more discussion oriented than regular classes. Especially at the freshman level, honors classes benefit more serious students by offering engaged peers and greater interaction.
