Value of compsci knowledge outside of compsci?

<p>I think that CIS would be a lot more useful for a finance major than CS.</p>

<p>Requirements vary from school to school but it would probably make the most sense to take courses from the practical side such as those in programming, project management and databases. Some CIS programs have requirements that a lot of CS courses will fulfill but they may not be the most useful for the typical CIS minor (compilers probably wouldn't be high on the list).</p>
