<p>my grades are mediocre to say the least (3.0 gpa) but my sats are very good... (2250) what schools would respect this. ps. i also have above average ec's and essay</p>
<p>3.0 GPA weighted or unweighted? Normal courses or AP/Honors/IB? If it is normal courses then you should really be looking at tier 2 colleges because your SAT score will not make up for it. If it is Honors or IB etc. then you could apply to some lower end tier 1 colleges and hope you get lucky.</p>
<p>You really should look at it from the other end of the spectrum: You have a 3.9UW GPA or something, and you have a 1800 SAT. Think about how far you would get with that, most people with those stats would not get very far into tier 1 colleges unless they had a major hook.</p>
<p>Not to be harsh or anything but I would suggest you improve your GPA as much as possible and try to find a hook that would help you with tier 1 colleges. Also, try and get high SAT IIs if possible. Good luck!</p>
<p>Go over to the parents forum: 3.0-3.3 thread; there are a couple of kids on there with similar stats who were accepted to large flagships like Penn State, UMD, etc…</p>
<p>and don’t rule out a school like Tulane, but expensive and you prob wouldn’t get any $$</p>
