[] Why I think I was accepted/deferred:I really don't know, I was deferred from Peabody's HOD major but I got into Boston College Early Action; I thought Early decision to Vandy would help, but apparently they were not interested in me
[] Other thoughts:

Shopgirl:
good luck on your RD rounds and applications and great news from Boston! I think you should not take being deferred too personally..you still may be selected in the next round. Vandy has had an upsurge in highly qualified applicants in the last four or five years with strong across the board test scores, including strong SATIIs. First priority is to put final polish on your other RD choice applications this month, then in January if Vandy is still a place you want to be, make sure they know it. Stay positive. Positive energy attracts positive energy. After all, you are a fine student with one great admission in hand. A percentage of deferred students do get selected in the next round when Admissions gets to take a look at the larger pool of applicants. If you can still picture your future at Vandy, stay in the game, but spread the love around to other schools on your list.
