does Vanderbilt have its own website (I.e. -- not
the Common Application) where I can track my application status?

I don't know about this year, but last year they did not have one. And if I remember correctly, they were not very good at communicating the status when I called the admissions office. They were, however, one of the first to send out acceptance packages... you know... once March finally came around.

hXcSTL is right. We currently have no setup in place for online application tracking. We do send postcards and emails when we are missing parts. You can also contact us at 1-800-288-0432 to inquire about application status.

Due to the heavy mail volume, please allow a little time (5-7 business days) for us to get it in the mail, open it and get it into our computer system.

Thanks,
Brad

Does that mean that Vanderbilt will just e-mail us the admission decision?

No, you will receive you admissions decision in the mail (yes, the postal system). If you’re an international applicant you’ll receive an email.

Just a few quips: If you’re a CV Scholar, you’ll get that email AND mail around the second week of March. If you’re in MOSAIC (which is their weekend for multicultural students which you don’t have to apply for) you’ll get that earlier too (late February? don’t remember, I couldn’t go so didn’t pay much attention). If not, then if you’re RD you’ll get regular old Snail Mail when April comes around.
