<p>I've only seen one acceptance for Blair so far this year and that was for classical guitar. Anyone else heard? We're waiting on Vocal Performance decision.</p>
<p>D has a friend who was accepted a couple of days ago for violin performance.</p>
<p>My D did the first audition date and they said at the dinner the night before that they would try to let everyone know by March 15th. We haven’t heard yet either and neither have the friends she made that weekend. The Classical Guitar girl was an ED, if I remember right. She auditioned the same day as my Daughter. Nice girl, too!</p>

<p>I was accepted today for vocal performance! My act was a lot lower than the norm, I had a 27 but a 3.98 GPA and I took a good amount of AP classes in high school</p>
<p>The standard can be lower academically, but you have to make up for it in other areas, such as extra curricular activities.</p>
<p>With all music schools, the standard for academic acceptance can be more flexible. If they need your instrument or your vocal range, then they are going to take you if you otherwise mostly fit the profile. Congratulations on your acceptance. We are still waiting to hear at our house, but the music ed program only takes 20 students, for a yield of 10, so we aren’t holding our breath.</p>
<p>Thank you, and good luck to you! Same with the vocal program, they only called back 30 after the pre screen and accepted 14 to yield around ten, so I feel incredibly lucky.</p>
<p>DS accepted for piano performance. He is still trying to decide between schools - not sure if Vandy will be as rigorous musically as other schools into which he was accepted (Florida State, Carnegie Mellon, waitlisted at Michigan). Any opinions?</p>
